LEICESTER CITY CONTINUED their post-Claudio Ranieri revival this afternoon with a spirited 3 – 1 comeback victory over relegation rivals Hull City.
The hosts began on the front foot but found themselves behind after 14 minutes as Sam Clucas struck home his first goal of the season from Kamil Grosicki’s pull-back cross.
The reinvigorated Jamie Vardy was a constant torment to the visitors and he created the equalising goal before the half-hour mark. The England international marauded down the left flank, reaching the by-line to pull back a cross to Christian Fuchs who unleashed a clean side-footed finish to leave the sides level at the break.

By the hour, the champions took the lead, Riyad Mahrez joining Vardy in the form guide as he twisted and turned to find space at the edge of the Hull area and squeezed a shot into the bottom corner beyond Eldin Jakupovic.
Hull, who began the day second from bottom but just three points off the champions, were desperate for a crucial equaliser. However, it was Craig Shakespeare’s Foxes who netted next, this time thanks to an own-goal from the head of Tom Huddlestone.
The victory moves Leicester City five points clear of the relegation zone, and Shakespeare closer to a full-time post in the hot seat at the King Power Stadium.
