Poignant scenes around the country as GAA pays tribute to the Berkeley tragedy victims

A minute’s silence was held before every inter-county game on Saturday.

THE GAA COMMUNITY paid their respects to the victims of the Berkeley tragedy as teams up and down the country stood for a minute’s silence on Saturday.

The six Irish students - Niccolai Schuster (21), Eoghan Culligan (21), Eimear Walsh (21), Olivia Burke (21), Ashley Donohoe (22) and Lorcan Miller (21) – were remembered before throw-in amid poignant scenes as the nations continues to mourn the tragic passing of ‘the products of what is best in Irish families’.

One of the deceased, Mr Culligan, was a member of Ballyboden St Endas in Dublin.
