Lance Armstrong offers Paul Kimmage the chance to take him on at Dublin event

The disgraced former cyclist will be in Ireland for the One Zero sports conference in October.

LANCE ARMSTRONG HAS invited hugely-respected Irish journalist Paul Kimmage to interview him at a live event in Dublin next month.

The disgraced former professional cyclist is scheduled to appear at the inaugural One Zero sports conference at the RDS on 21 October, along with the likes of one-time Fifa presidential candidate Jaimie Fuller of Skins, and Twitter’s head of sport, Alex Trickett.

Irish freelance journalist Ewan MacKenna is pencilled in to conduct a live Q&A with Armstrong in what co-founder Rob Hartnett has called ”certainly the first time Lance will be back in Ireland since he opened up about the doping and that period of his life”.

However, Kimmage, who dedicated years of his career to exposing Armstrong’s use of performance-enhancing drugs, told Hartnett on The Last Word earlier this week that he would’ve “paid him” for the opportunity to quiz the 45-year-old American at the event.

And last night, Armstrong tweeted Kimmage:

Kimmage appeared willing to take up the offer with his second response, while Brazil-based MacKenna suggested he would be happy to step aside:

But this morning, Kimmage poured cold water on the prospect of him featuring at One Zero Con:
