TOMMY WALSH WILL start at full-back for Kilkenny on Saturday in the Leinster championship and Brian Cody is named on the bench to face Wexford.

For a game at minor level, it should be added.

Walsh from the Tullaroan club anchors the defence while Cody from the St Martin’s club is selected amongst the substitutes for the game in Innovate Wexford Park.

Four players from the starting line-up from last year’s All-Ireland final will start in Walsh, the 2014 captain Darragh Joyce, Cathal McGrath and Ross Butler.

Shane Murphy, Conor Doheny, Richie Leahy and Andrew Gaffney were all substitutes last year who are now  included in this year’s team.

Goalkeeper Murphy is a younger brother of Kilkenny senior net minder Eoin while Joyce’s older brother is Cats senior player Kieran.

Walsh, Richie Leahy and Joe Connolly all started on the St Kieran’s (Kilkenny) team that won the Croke Cup earlier this month.
