Doyle’s deflected shot opened the scoring after just 13 minutes of the Western Conference Championship final, but the Rapids lost the first leg against the Seattle Sounders 2-1.

Jordan Morris equalised for Seattle in the 19th minute before Nicolas Lodeiro’s penalty just after the hour mark ensured that they will take a slender lead to Colorado. The second leg takes place on Sunday.

In the Eastern Conference final first leg, Montreal Impact won a thrilling all-Canadian affair, beating Toronto FC 3-2.
