Kerry opt to experiment in first outing of the year as big names set for Florida return

Opportunity knocks for some of Kerry’s next generation on Sunday.

KERRY MANAGER EAMONN Fitzmaurice has named a largely experimental team for his side’s McGrath Cup fixture against Clare on Sunday.

None of the players currently on a team holiday in Florida were available for selection for the Kingdom’s first outing of 2016.

The team is predominately made up of players from last year’s All-Ireland winning junior side with Shane Murphy, Brendan O’Sullivan, Philip O’Connor and Jeff O’Donoghue all included.

Brian O’Beaglaoich, who was a member of the 2014 All-Ireland winning minor team, will make his debut while Paul and Brendan O’Sullivan are handed starts after helping South Kerry to the championship title before Christmas.

Throw-in at Fitzgerald Stadium is at 2.30pm.
