Tommy Walsh goes off injured but Barry John Keane hits 0-8 as Kerins O'Rahillys advance in Kerry

O’Rahillys will take on Paul Geaney’s Dingle in the second round of the Kerry SFC.

UNDERDOGS KERINS O’RAHILLYS came back from behind to defeat South Kerry in the Kerry SFC first round in Tralee today.

Brendan O’Sullivan and Kerry U21 Matthew O’Sullivan hit the net in the opening half to leave South Kerry 2-8 to 0-10 in front at the interval.

Goals from John Ferguson and Gearoid Savage, in addition to eight points from Barry John Keane handed the home side a 2-16 to 2-12 victory.

Former Sydney Swans player Tommy Walsh, who dropped off the Kerry panel about a year ago, left the field just 24 minutes into the game with an injury.

Extra-time couldn’t separate Legion and Kenmare Shamrocks, who finished level after 80 minutes at 1-12 to 0-15.

County star James O’Donoghue missed an early penalty for Legion, while promising forward Sean O’Shea landed a last-minute bring the game to force extra-time.

2016 semi-finalists Rathmore saw off East Kerry on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-10.
