Fitzmaurice has been in charge of Kerry since August 2012 when he took up a three-year term. The Finuge man was reappointed for one season in the wake of last September’s All-Ireland final loss with that tenure ending when Kerry were defeated in the recent epic All-Ireland semi-final clash with Dublin.
Fitzmaurice, a former Kerry senior selector and county U21 manager, has guided Kerry to a Munster senior four-in-a-row along with the 2014 All-Ireland final victory over Donegal.

At least now it’s put to bed that he is going to be coming back for two years, which I think is a good thing because I think Eamonn has laid down an awful lot of foundation work.
“He can bring young fellas into the panel because we have a lot of good minors from the last couple of years coming through.
I think he’ll be looking forward to working with them as well. I think it’s a new start.”
