FANS OF THE League of Ireland will know Ken Oman well from his days with Bohemians, Derry City, Shamrock Rovers and St Patrick’s Athletic.
The 34-year-old defender, who has three SSE Airtricity League Premier Division titles and two FAI Cups to his name, is plying his trade in the Northern Ireland Football League with Portadown these days.

Bottom of the Premiership table, the Ports were away to title-chasing Cliftonville on Saturday.
Another former LOI regular, Cliftonville skipper Jason McGuinness, saw red after just 26 minutes for a clash of heads with Gary Breen (not that one).
The ten man would go on to claim a 1-0 win thanks to Levi Ives’ deflected strike, but Oman should have received his marching orders after a deliberate elbow off the ball which knocked out two of substitute Caomhin Bonner’s teeth.
While no action was taken at the time, Oman has today been handed a six-match ban and fined £100 (€120).
“The Discipline Committee received correspondence from Evan Boyce (referee) and Cliftonville in relation to the Ken Oman elbow on Saturday,” reads a statement from the IFA.
“The Committee considered the correspondence together with the video footage and decided to charge Ken Oman with a breach of Article 18.11 of the Disciplinary Code (assault or battery of an opponent) and sanction him with a 6 match ban and £100 fine on the club.”
