Former Ireland midfielder Andrews joins St Pat's coaching staff

The ex-Blackburn Rovers man will look after the Saints’ underage sides while completing his Uefa Pro License.

ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC have announced that Keith Andrews is joining the club’s coaching staff.

The Ex-Ireland midfielder, who plied his trade at the likes of Blackburn Rovers, West Brom and Wolves during a 16-year professional career in England, will work with youth teams at the Inchicore club while he completes his Uefa Pro License over an 18-month spell.

Earlier this year, Andrews got involved in coaching Ireland’s underage sides along with Damien Duff, Kenny Cunningham, Mark Kinsella and Stephen McPhail.

“Keith has recently started his pro license and we are delighted we can help him over the duration of his course,” said Pats’ director of football Ger O’Brien.

“It’s fantastic for the club and particularly our underage players and coaches to have someone of the calibre of Keith come in and work with our teams.”

Keith had a hugely successful career, playing at the highest level possible for both club and country and his experience and knowledge will be fantastic for us to see up close.

“He’s working with some of the Republic of Ireland underage teams already and we look forward here at St Pat’s to him starting with us in January when the players report back for pre-season.”
