Robbie Keane scores and provides an assist for an ex-Spurs team-mate

The Ireland captain grabbed his 11th of the season.

ROBBIE KEANE TOOK his tally for the season to 11 last night as he netted the second for LA Galaxy in a 3-1 home win against Seattle Sounders.

Chad Barrett had given the Sounders the lead inside the opening minute but Gyasi Zardes equalised for the Galaxy to leave the sides level at the break.

Keane nudged the hosts in front, stabbing home from close range after former Tottenham colleague Giovani dos Santos was unable to bring AJ De La Garza’s cross under control.

Keane then returned the favour for dos Santos, sending the Mexican international through to score on his debut and seal a 3-1 win for LA Galaxy, which sends them into second place in the Western Conference.

“Robbie Keane is a great teammate,” said dos Santos afterwards. “I am very thankful for the assist and he has always shown me his affection and I am very thankful. It is always a pleasure to play next to him.”

Keane also had words of praise for dos Santos: “When you score a goal and he got that assist as well, what more do you want from him? He’s not 100% fit, he’s probably 80 with the conditions as well. Gio got his goal, not an easy finish, it was a good finish.”
