Great news for Katie Walsh as she's passed fit to ride in the Grand National

Daryl Jacob has also been cleared to take part in the big one at Aintree today.

Her participation in the Aintree showcase was cast into doubt on Thursday after she suffered a fall on board Distime in the Foxhunters’ Chase.

Although it was first reported that Walsh had broken her arm, x-rays later revealed that the injury was just bruising and she remained hopeful of partnering 40/1-shot Wonderful Charm.

And, after being cleared to race today, Walsh said: “I’m fit and ready to go and really looking forward to it.”

She was third in the 2012 Grand National on Seabass.

The winning jockey that year, Daryl Jacob, has also been given the go-ahead to ride Ucello Conti after his fall in yesterday’s Topham Chase.
