'Just give me the ball,' Eriksen tells Spurs
He has scored late Premier League winners against Hull City, Swansea City and Sunderland since November.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR MIDFIELDER Christian Eriksen said he told his team-mates “Just give me the ball” after continuing his run of crucial last-gasp goals with a late winner against Sheffield United.
The Denmark playmaker, 22, struck twice in the League Cup semi-final second leg at Bramall Lane on Wednesday to give Spurs a 3-2 victory that sent them into the March 1 final against Chelsea.
His second goal came in the 87th minute, meaning he has now scored decisive goals in the last three minutes of a match four times in his last 16 appearances.
“The second goal came at a crucial time, but after 88 minutes, just give me the ball,” he said. “I didn’t think it was slipping away, but I was thinking about extra-time.”
