THERE WAS JOY for Ireland U19 international midfielder Alan Browne, as his Preston side beat Swindon 4-0 in the League One playoff final today.
Jermaine Beckford hit a hat-trick, while Paul Huntington was also on target in what turned out to be a comfortable win for Simon Grayson’s side.
20-year-old Cork native Browne, who was on the books at Cork City previously but never made a competitive first-team appearance, featured as a 37th-minute substitute in his side’s impressive win.

And the youngster was not the only Irish representative who was celebrating today — Preston’s goalkeeping coach and former Ireland international Alan Kelly also watched on as the Lancashire-based side triumphed.
