Jose Mourinho has weighed in on the Fifa-FAI controversy

The FAI, earlier in the week, played down criticism following the emergence of this news.

CHELSEA COACH JOSE Mourinho is the latest in a long line of people to have weighed in on the recent FAI-Fifa controversy.

In an extensive interview with The Sunday Times, the Portuguese manager also suggested that the awarding of the 2012 Coach of the Year — which he lost out to Vicente del Bosque — seemed less than fair, insinuating that someone had tampered with the voting process.

And on this week’s revelations that the FAI were paid £5million by Fifa in the aftermath of Ireland losing a World Cup playoff thanks in part to Thierry Henry’s handball, Mourinho said:

“This one, for me, is the end of the world.

“You change the truth of the game for €5m? What’s next? Because more stories will come for sure.”

The FAI, earlier in the week, played down criticism following the emergence of this news, claiming they were entitled to act as they did.
