After on-pitch row during Champions League tie, Jose Mourinho drops Diego Costa

The pair clashed during Chelsea’s European tie with Maccabi Tel Aviv last Tuesday.

DESPITE SAYING THERE was ‘no problem’ between him and striker Diego Costa, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has dropped the Spanish international to the bench for today’s early kick-off with Tottenham.

The pair were embroiled in a heated exchange as they made their way to the dressing rooms at half-time during Chelsea’s win over Maccabi Tel Aviv on Tuesday night.

Mourinho was quizzed about it afterwards.

I wanted him to do a certain movement that he didn’t and I was disappointed and reacted. He reacted too but at half-time in the dressing-room, a few kisses, a few cuddles…no problem.”

But, there will be more questions asked about Costa in the aftermath of today’s clash, especially should the guests suffer at the hands of the impressive and consistent Spurs.
