Murphy goes down injured during Saturday's game.

ACL damage rules Jordi Murphy out for up to 9 months as 6 players join Ireland squad

The Leinster flanker injured his knee in Saturday’s historic victory over the All Blacks.

IRELAND WILL BE without Jordi Murphy for between six and nine months after it was confirmed today that he has suffered ACL damage.

The Leinster flanker was forced off the pitch with an injury to his left knee during Saturday’s win over New Zealand in Chicago — Ireland’s first in 111 years.

While Murphy will play no part in this weekend’s test with Canada at the Aviva Stadium, six players have been called up to extend the squad to 39-strong.

Munster trio Dave Kilcoyne, Jack O’Donoghue and Darren Sweetnam as well as Connacht pair Niyi Adeolokun, Tiernan O’Halloran and Dan Leavy all joined up with the group at Carton House today.

Hmmm…Rugby World Cup 2007, Ireland 14 Georgia 10, Georgia were leading 10-7 until Dempsey’s lucky try in the 55th minute? Remember that? Arrogant, disrespectful, complacent article. No international rugby team and no international test game should be taken for granted like this.

Considering the uproar about Bok TV’s scheduled add on Monday about beating Ireland, this a bit embarrassing.

This Ireland team are cute enough now to play their own game regardless of opposition & despite what bookies/journos say. Bookies weren’t too hot last week with the South Africa odds!

You can get about 75/1 at Betfair. Interestingly, a draw between Germany and Gibraltar is trading at around 150/1.
