Liverpool dealt another major injury blow after Jordan Henderson suffers training ground injury

The midfielder faces a lengthy period on the sidelines.

LIVERPOOL CAPTAIN JORDAN Henderson suffered a broken foot during training on Saturday and could be out of action for up to eight weeks.

Although the length of time the midfielder is likely to spend on the sidelines has yet to be officially revealed by the club, the 25-year-old has already taken to Twitter to convey his disappointment.

“Very disappointed and frustrated with the injury setback but will work hard to be back as quickly as possible,” he tweeted.

“Will be supporting the team in every way I can while I’m unable to play. Thanks for all of your support.”

The news comas as a massive and untimely blow for Liverpool, who have failed to register a win in their last four matches in all competitions.

Henderson had reportedly been in contention to make his comeback against Norwich City this weekend, after being forced to undergo a procedure on a heel problem that had kept him out of action since hobbling out of the Merseyside club’s second game of the season, against Bournemouth last month.
