Ireland's Jono Carroll remains undefeated with victory on Klitschko-Fury undercard

The 23-year took his record to 9-0 tonight.

IRELAND’S JONO CARROLL kept his perfect pro record alive with victory over Miguel Gonzalez on the undercard of tonight’s world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko.

The 23-year old made it nine wins from nine since turning professional back in 2012 thanks to a unanimous decision victory over his Honduran opponent whose record now reads 13-4.

The Irishman dominated the early stages and, as Gonzalez tried to chase the bout, Carroll picked him apart without finding the decisive punch that may have ended the 10-round contest early.

Before the fight, the Irish super featherweight — who trains in Packie Collins’ Celtic Warriors Gym where Conor McGregor once sparred — joked with Sky Box Office that he had fought in a sold out football arena before the UFC star.
