Joleon Lescott leaves AEK Athens after just three months

The experienced centre-back played just four times in Greece.

FORMER ENGLAND DEFENDER Joleon Lescott left AEK Athens on Thursday just three months into his two-year contract, the Greek Super League club announced.

“AEK announces the completion of its cooperation with player Joleon Lescott and wishes him success in his future career,” the club said in a statement.

Lescott, 34, joined AEK in August after leaving Aston Villa, but the centre-back played just four times in Greece and struggled to make an impression while battling a knee injury.
