He was due to return after a few months but new manager Micheál Donoghue said he is not sure if the bustling forward will be back this season.
Glynn moved to America after Galway’s defeat to Kilkenny in last year’s All-Ireland final and has yet to indicate whether he will be moving home to return to the Galway panel.
Donoghue, who has taken over the reins from Anthony Cunningham, has spoken to Glynn and remains hopeful that he may return.
“Johnny went to America, but I’ve spoken to him on a few occasions. It’s just ongoing at the moment,” said Donoghue.
“We’re respectful of what he wanted to do and it’s something we’ll revisit in a few weeks’ time. Hopefully we can work out something together.”
