JOHN KIELY HAS been officially named Limerickโs next senior hurling manager.
The All-Ireland winning U21 boss was identified last night as the preferred candidate of the Treatyโs headhunting committee, and his appointment on a three-year term was ratified at this eveningโs County Board meeting, where he received the unanimous backing of clubs.
Na Piarsaigh manager Shane OโNeill had been strongly linked to take over from TJ Ryan but was overlooked in favour of Kiely, who was one of John Allenโs selectors during the victorious 2013 Munster campaign.
One selector is still to be confirmed but Kiely will be joined by Paul Kinnerk โ the Monaleen native tempted back to his home county following a second spell with the Clare senior hurlers โ as well a strength and conditioning coach Jimmy Quilty and selector Jimmy Quilty.

In my eyes one of the most talented squad members.I think him and Coleman and long will have a huge tournament.
Roy must of had a word in his ear
Time will tell here!
Letโs hope he plays an absolute fโ"King stormer in France.
Talented player but useless for Ireland
Against germany he was immense
He is right, has been dirt for Ireland.
I know Iโm right. Most of the country is saying it. I need an example of when he stood out and had a man of the match performance for Ireland.
Germany at home was immense.
He was decent but Hoolahan and Long were better
Iโd say heโs been a bit selfish, Not fit donโt play, Donโt agree with Roy on that.
