John Joe Nevin keeps unbeaten pro record intact with TKO on boxing return

Ireland’s Olympic silver medallist was back in the ring last night after a 10-month lay-off.

JOHN JOE NEVIN MADE a winning return to boxing in Coney Island, New York last night.

Fighting for the first time in ten months, the Olympic silver medallist made it four wins from four in his professional career with a TKO of Mexican southpaw Victor Raul Capaceta.

Mullingar native Nevin controlled the opening three rounds and his opponent, who hadn’t previously been stopped, didn’t emerge from his corner for the fourth.
