Tributes pour in after Cork All-Ireland winner John Horgan passes away

The Blackrock player was a member of the triumphant Cork 1976-78 team.

TRIBUTES HAVE BEEN paid today after the passing of former Cork All-Ireland hurling winner John Horgan.

Horgan was involved in four Liam MacCarthy Cup wins with Cork, firstly in 1970 and then as part of the three-in-a-row Rebel side from 1976 to 1978.

The defender also won All-Ireland medals with Cork at minor (1967) and U21 (1970 & 1971) level, along with enjoying three National League triumphs.

With his club Blackrock, he won All-Ireland medals in 1971, 1973 and 1978. In addition Horgan claimed Allstar awards in 1974, 1977 and 1978.
