Johan Cruyff tribute: Netherlands v France friendly will be stopped after 14 minutes

Plans to honour Dutch legend at Friday’s international friendly.

FRIDAY’S FRIENDLY BETWEEN the Netherlands and France will be stopped in the 14th minute for a minute’s silence in honour of Johan Cruyff.

The Dutch football association announced the tribute after Cruyff died earlier on Thursday at the age of 68 after a battle with cancer.

The legendary footballer wore the number 14 on his Ajax and Dutch national shirt during his glittering playing career.

Before the match, a minute’s silence will also be observed in memory of the victims of the Brussels attacks on Tuesday.
