IN AN UNEXPECTED development, Manchester City’s Joe Hart is inching closer to a temporary deal with Serie A side Torino after shunning the interests of some Premier League teams.
Sunderland were monitoring his situation since losing Vito Mannone to injury but Hart has little desire in moving to the Stadium of Light.
Instead, he’s pushing for a switch to Turin.

There is plenty of work to be done before a deal is complete, though, with City wanting to offload the majority of Hart’s salary at the very least.
Some rumours indicate Sunderland are willing to pay all of the 29-year-old’s wages but Torino won’t agree to the same agreement.
Reports suggest the Italian club is confident the transfer will be completed tomorrow.
It would represent a big gamble for Hart. Staying with an English top-flight side would keep a familiarity and stability while it would certainly be easier for England boss Sam Allardyce to keep tabs on his performances.

Hart is understandably concerned that not playing regular first-team football will ensure his first-choice position for his country comes under threat but surely he doesn’t need to go to Italy to get game-time.
Torino were promoted back to Serie A in 2012 after three years in the second tier. They finished in 12th place in the league last season.
