The Ardnaree Sarsfields forward racked up in incredible 20-358 during 94 league and championship appearances for Mayo between 1958 and 1974.
Fondly known as ‘Jinkin Joe’ for his distinctive style of play, Corcoran is regarded as one of the greatest players to ever play the game.

A two-footed wing-forward, he lifted two Connacht titles, and a National League crown with Mayo, as well as a Railway Cup with Connacht during his playing days.
He famously bagged 1-9 for the county against Meath in a tournament which took place at London’s Wembley Stadium in 1968.
He was surpassed by Conor Mortimer in 2012 as the county’s leading scorer. Mortimer was among those to lead the tributes to Corcoran on Twitter today.
