TRIBUTES HAVE BEEN paid today after the popular Cork GAA official Jim Forbes passed away.

Forbes was a former chairman of the Cork county board between 2003 and 2005. and also served in roles as PRO and vice-chairman in his native county. At provincial level, he was elected PRO of the Munster GAA Council in 2008 for a three-year term.
At the time of his death, Forbes was the treasurer of the Carrigdhoun division and the chairman of the Rebel Óg central region.
He was a member of the Carrigaline club and also previously served as chairman of the GAA’s Central Appeals Committee.
An official statement from the Munster GAA Council today read:
An unassuming character, Jim was respected throughout the GAA world and beyond for the efficient manner in which he dealt with whatever task he was assigned to. We pass on our sincere condolences to Jim’s family and his wide circle of friends.”
