Derby swiftly reject €3.5 million bid for Jeff Hendrick from Premier League club

The Championship club are determined to keep hold of the Ireland international.

PREMIER LEAGUE NEW boys Burnley have had their advances for Jeff Hendrick rebuffed by Derby County with the club insisting the midfielder is not for sale.

The Ireland international’s stock has risen considerably after his performances during Euro 2016 and his Championship employers were quick to reject Burnley’s offer of €3.5 million.

The Telegraph reports that Derby feel the bid for the 24-year-old is ‘embarrassing’ amid heightened interest from several clubs including Crystal Palace, Middlesbrough and Hull City.

Hendrick has two years remaining on his contract at the iPro Stadium and will join up with Nigel Pearson’s squad for the remainder of their pre-season camp in Portugal this week.

Cyrus Christie and Richard Keogh will also return to club duty in Portugal after a short summer break.
