Javier Hernandez scored from outside the area last night and it was a thing of beauty

The Mexican has now managed fifteen top-flight goals since moving from Manchester United.

WHAT’S RARE IS wonderful and seeing as though Javier Hernandez doesn’t often venture far past the eighteen-yard line, when he scores from outside the area, it truly is something to savour.

The Mexican has reveled in his leading role for Bayer Leverkusen since moving from Manchester United at the start of the season.

And despite only returning from international duty on Thursday, ‘Chicharito’ featured prominently against Wolfsburg last night, despite only coming on as a substitute with half an hour left.

Leverkusen were leading 1-0 when Hernandez was introduced and he added a glorious second ten minutes after being introduced.

Perched on the edge of the area, he curled a magnificent strike around Diego Benaglio to the far corner with the ball kissing the inside of the upright on its way.

He’s now scored fifteen top-flight goals with a further nine coming in cup competitions.

The victory lifts Leverkusen up to fourth and pushes them closer to playing Champions League football next term.
