JAVIER HERNANDEZ CLAIMED only the second hat-trick of his career on Saturday to extend his scoring run to 15 goals in Bayer Leverkusen’s last 12 games.
Chicharito needed just 13 second-half minutes to score his three goals in Leverkusen’s 5-0 victory over Borussia Moechengladbach as ex-Germany striker Stefan Kiessling also scored either side of half-time.
The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Hernandez has now scored ten league goals for a total of 17 in all competitions for Leverkusen this season.
It extends Hernandez’s remarkable run of 15 in the last 12 games since the end of October, including the equaliser in Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with reigning Champions League holders Barcelona.
This was his second hat-trick since scoring three goals for Mexico in a 5-0 win over El Salvador in the group stages at the 2011 Gold Cup.
He went onto be the tournament’s top scorer with seven goals, as the Mexicans eventually won the final 4-2 against the USA.
Hernandez’s goals at the BayArena sealed Leverkusen’s valuable victory which lifts them up to sixth as they claimed only their second win in their last nine games.
His goals will be sorely missed at United, who sold him to Leverkusen in August for £8 million as they slumped to a 2-1 win at Bournemouth on Saturday and have scored just four goals in their last five games.
‘Gladbach crashed to their first defeat in 11 league games under coach Andre Schubert in their 5-0 hammering and drop to fifth.
United fans pulling their hair out :)
No United fans aren’t, he was given multiple chances by 3 managers and never took them, including a stint in Madrid.
He had RVP to compete with under Ferguson And the other two idiots hadn’t a clue how to use him
Had 3 fairly effective seasons under Ferguson Dave, his first being excellent, clearly a confidence player. Always liked him as a Utd fan, honest n hardworking, form dipped under Moyes n van gaal but sure hey he’s not the only one that’s happened to. Glad he’s doing well
As a United fan… All you can do is laugh.
I’d say most are crying though
But I won’t. I’ll laugh it up. It’s a killer. Hahahaha.
We should never have let him go. Jesus what a day so far, United losing, the Euro draw from hell and Munster losing at home right now. Hopefully Spike and McGregor can get a couple of wins tonight.
Make sure you jot that down in your big notepad Louis….
And there were have it? It was almost inevitably that Hernandez would be a success elsewhere once he was given a decent chance. I’m pleased for him and wish him continued success.
Van Gaal – Football Genius -_-
He would just be a sub under LVG.
I liked Hernandez , but his form had been poor for his last couple of seasons at Utd , he did ok at Madrid but was poor when he came back to Utd earlier in the season . Glad he’s thriving at a new club think that’s what he needed
Hes playing really well as a starter, something he never did at OT.
It’s nice to see Hernandez and Wilson banging in the goals today – especially considering the sheer volume of attacking talent LVG has gifted us with at Man Utd.
Hee hee!
Can he come visit us in Spurs please? :)
To be fair he’s found his level.
There is a good joke in there about Bayer being title challengers and United being mid table but I can’t find it.
Yea your right its you ! Your the joke Ron
2000 consecutive comments and none of them about football. Well played Bravo but troll harder.
Bravo!
As hard as you ? Couldn’t possibly …..
Still no comment about football? Sure why not keep the role going Bravo.
I can’t even remember you posting a comment of your own, just mindless and pointless insults towards other people’s ideas. I might had a modicum of respect for you if you were capable of expressing an opinion about Javier Hernandez’s career(which is what the forum is about).
But you clearly don’t have the language skills to post anything more that just idiotic one liners. Prove me wrong……
