IT’S THE FINAL day of the January transfer window so sit back and let the rumours roll in.
Between now and 11pm this evening, we’ll bring you all the sightings, whispers, tittle-tattles and maybe even some genuine news of moves in between all the fanfare.
Ireland international Aiden McGeady joins Sheffield Wednesday on loan until the end of the season.
Ex-Dundalk forward Pat Hoban moves to Stevenage.
Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy joins French side Bordeaux on loan.
Federico Fazio is on the way back to Sevilla on a loan deal from Tottenham.

Steven Fletcher goes to Marseille on loan from Sunderland.
Good afternoon football fans. It’s that day of the year again and we’ll be here late into the night to ensure you’re kept abreast of all the developments.
As is so often the case, there’s not a lot happening apart from a few loan deals here and there and Tony Cascarino, Alan Curbishley and Ray Wilkins going around in circles to fill air time on Sky Sports News.
BUT when something actually happens, you’ll hear about it right here. As always, we love to hear from you so get in touch via the following ways. E-mail ryan@the42.ie, tweet @the42_ie, post a message to our Facebook wall, or leave a comment below.
We’re literally just underway and there’s a done deal to bring you news of. Celtic have completed the 18-month loan signing of Patrick Roberts from Manchester City.
The 18-year-old moved to Eastlands from Fulham during the summer for £12 million and has now been sent to Scotland to gain first-team experience.
It’s all happening at the moment, with Manchester City revealing Pep Guardiola will take over the reins from Manuel Pellegrini at the end of the season. More to follow on that story.
Unfortunately McGeady’s loan move to Wednesday will be knocked off the back pages now.
Interesting news from France where reports say Arsenal defender Mathieu Debuchy is on the verge of moving to Bordeaux after Arsene Wenger rejected an approach from Man United.
It’s been a busy hour all of a sudden as news of another done deal filters through.
Steve McClaren has been very active over the last couple of days and he’s added another new face to his Newcastle squad with the arrival of Ivory Coast international striker Seydou Doumbia from AS Roma, subject to the player receiving the appropriate visa.
The 28-year-old moves to St. James’ Park until the end of the season, with an option to make the deal permanent in the summer.
A bit of Irish interest here with Oxford United boss Michael Appleton revealing former Dundalk striker Pat Hoban may be on his way out of the club on loan before the window shuts.
The 24-year-old from Galway has struggled for first-team opportunities since moving to the League Two side in November 2014. His time in England has been plagued by injuries.
Arsene Wenger is “99 per cent sure” that Arsenal will not make any last-minute signings in the transfer window – unless Lionel Messi becomes available.

The Gunners brought Mohamed Elneny to north London in January in what has proved to be an otherwise quiet transfer period for the Premier League club.
Wenger does not expect to be heavily involved on deadline day but admitted he cannot rule out last-minute deals should exceptional players suddenly become available.
“The whole period was much quieter than I expected,” he told the media. “I’m one of the few who has done more business. I told you we’d do at least one transfer, I’d have been open to one more but there’s a rarity of players on the market. “A miracle can always happen. I’m 99 per cent sure [of no signings]. If Messi knocks at my door at ten to six, I won’t say ‘please go back to Barcelona’.”
Wenger confirmed Mathieu Debuchy and Serge Gnabry could both still leave on loan deals, with the France international likely to stay in the Premier League and Gnabry poised for a move to the Championship.

It’s very quiet at Liverpool’s training complex. Jurgen Klopp has just told Sky Sports News he doesn’t expect any movement at Melwood today.
“I don’t think something will happen in terms of incomings,” he said.
“I’m not sure what’s better for your job. So I can say maybe something happens or I can say the truth. No, you can finish work for the day. The outgoing side I’m not 100% sure.”

De Jong has made only five appearances for the Rossoneri this season and was left out of Sinisa Mihajlovic’s squad for a 3-0 derby win over city rivals Inter Milan on Sunday.
A club statement read: “AC Milan announces that Nigel De Jong’s contract with the club has been mutually terminated today.
“AC Milan would like to thank the Dutchman for his determination, commitment and professionalism shown during his time with the red and black colours.
“We wish him all the success possible and all the very best for the next stage of his career.”
He has recently been linked with a move to Major League Soccer side Los Angeles Galaxy.
The Ireland goalkeeper has hinted he may look to force a move through before 11pm to boost his chances of going to Euro 2016.
Speaking to the Stoke Sentinel, the 39-year-old admitted it’s unlikely he will replace Jack Butland in the side.
David Davies

“I’ve got the European Championships to get right for and hopefully play some games for Stoke, but that’s not going to be easy because Jack has probably been our player of the season so far,” he said.
“I’ve got to get match fit first, which will probably take a few weeks, then take it from there. The summer is massive for me and it’s important I get match fit and play a few games to show them I’m ready to get on the plane to France.
“It might be here or it might be on loan for a couple of months. The important thing is to make sure the knee is right and then maybe have a chat with the gaffer.”
Bad news for Galway native Pat Hoban with Oxford completing a deal to bring Scotland international Chris Maguire to the club. Manager Michael Appleton earlier admitted Hoban, who signed from Dundalk two years ago, is likely to be sent out on loan.

Liverpool full-back Jose Enrique is in talks with Newcastle over a possible return to the club.
The defender has six months left on his contract at Anfield but the Express are reporting the Reds are prepared to let the Spaniard return to St James’ Park.
Jurgen Klopp has given up hope of bringing Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira to Liverpool before the transfer deadline.

The Anfield side had earmarked the Brazilian forward as the ideal addition to their squad and the 26-year-old claimed they even tabled an official offer for him.
Shakhtar turned down Liverpool’s offer for the versatile attacker, though, and slapped a €50million price tag on their star man, which has proven beyond Liverpool.
“I am not sure what would be best for the journalists out here,” Klopp said at a news conference when asked about incoming transfers.
“I could say that something might happen or I can say the truth, which is there will not be incoming transfers. No, you can finish work for the day. “The players returning from injury are our new signings.”
Does this chap not have anything better to be doing on a Monday afternoon than stand in Heathrow Airport with this sign? Or is this tedious transfer deadline day set to explode with the most spectacular deal of all time?
Former Dundalk striker Pat Hoban has joined Stevenage on a month’s loan. He has found first team opportunities hard to come by at Oxford and moves to the side in 19th in League Two.
Stevenage are managed by former Man United striker Teddy Sheringham.
“Pat has done well, but for one reason or another he has not been able to get a run of games. It makes sense for him to go out, play matches at Stevenage and hopefully get a few goals as well,” Oxford boss Michael Appleton said.
