OLIVIER GIROUD SAYS he has been informed that Jamie Vardy wants to join Arsenal this summer, after the Gunners triggered the release clause in the Leicester City striker’s contract.
It’s understood that Arsene Wenger’s side are confident of completing the signing of the 29-year-old before Vardy and the rest of the England squad fly to France for Euro 2016 on Monday.

Claudio Ranieri subsequently told Gazzetta dello Sport that “it’s all true” when asked about Arsenal’s interest, and Giroud is excited by the prospect of Vardy completing his transfer.
I have been told that Jamie wants to join us and it’s very good news for us. I think we can be complimentary and that’s all I can say,” Giroud told Sky Sports News.
“He’s a fantastic player, so it’s good news for us.”
Giroud is also unworried by the prospect of elite competition at the Emirates Stadium and insists he knew the club would sign a forward this summer as they
