Canada's Jamie Cudmore is in unbelievable shape ahead of the RWC

Paul O’Connell’s old mate is looking in good nick.

PAUL O’CONNELL MIGHT get the chance to lock horns with Jamie Cudmore again in the World Cup when Ireland meet Canada in their Pool D opener in Cardiff on 19 September.

It may be that Joe Schmidt doesn’t start his captain in that fixture, but a battle between the two second rows who infamously came to blows at Thomond Park in 2008 would be interesting.

O’Connell is in the form of his life, but 36-year-old Cudmore has also been superb for Clermont in recent seasons and looks to be in superb physical condition as always.

Canada’s head of strength and conditioning, Andrew Evans, shared the above video of Cudmore (who weighs close to 120kg) in the gym as the Canadians prepare for RWC2015.

Impressive stuff from Cudmore as he “defeats Crossfit” in the words of S&C expert Evans.
