JAMES MCCLEAN WAS at the centre of controversy again following West Brom’s 1-0 win over Sunderland today.

McClean, who used to play for Sunderland, had an altercation with Danny Graham before several other players interjected following today’s Premier League match at the Hawthorns.

The Ireland international’s celebrations at the final whistle, fist-pumping following abuse from the away fans, are understood to have prompted the trouble.

It is not the first time that the former Derry City winger has been the subject of controversy, with McClean coming under fire in July for appearing to turn his back on the English national anthem.

West Brom manager Tony Pulis was also reportedly less than complimentary about his player following the incident, with BBC reporter Ivan Gaskell quoting the manager suggesting McClean was “not the sharpest tool in the box”.
