Jamie Vardy will miss Leicester's potential Premier League party after additional ban

The striker already missed the Foxes’ rousing 4-0 victory over Swansea at the weekend.

LEICESTER CITY WILL win the Premier League title if they beat Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday but they’ll be without star striker Jamie Vardy.

He’s been hit with an additional one-game suspension owing to his behavior towards referee Jon Moss after being sent-off against West Ham eight days ago.

The red card (for two bookable offences) ensured an automatic one-match ban but Vardy was subsequently charged with improper conduct and a more severe punishment always seemed likely after that.

Vardy angrily pointed a finger and swore at the official in the immediate aftermath of his sending off, furious that Moss had booked him for diving rather than award a penalty.

However, with the dismissal being his first ever in senior football, Vardy had sought some leniency by requesting a private hearing.

Still, it mattered little and he was also slapped with a £10,000 fine.
