The 19-year-old midfielder has made 20 appearances in the Dutch top flight and followed up his goal last weekend by receiving praise for his performance away to Feyenoord on Sunday.
Cambuur lost 3-1 to Giovanni van Bronckhurst’s side but Byrne’s corner set up a goal for Martijn Barto, before Dirk Kuyt and Eljero Elia struck late one for the home side, and the Ireland U21 international was named in the league’s team of the week by Betweters.
