Jack Byrne's schoolboy club showed up as he faced PSV Eindhoven in the Dutch Cup

The Ireland U21 midfielder’s Cambuur were beaten 3-2 by the Eredivisie champions last night.

AFTER MAKING HIS competitive debut for Eredivisie club Cambuur over the weekend, Irish U21 midfielder Jack Byrne faced Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven at the Philips Stadionlast night.

Manchester City youth product Byrne, who is spending the season out on loan, started in a three-man midfield for the KNVB second round tie and got 90 minutes under his belt in the 3-2 defeat.

The winner came in the 78th minute as striker Luuk de Jong struck a penalty for the home side, who defeated Manchester United at the same ground last week.

Members of Jack’s schoolboy club St Kevin’s Boys as well as his agent, former Ireland international Graham Barrett, were in attendance.
