Elliot, McShane and O'Kane handed starts in experimental Ireland side

Martin O’Neill has named his starting lineup for tonight’s match at the Aviva Stadium.

IRELAND HAVE NAMED their starting XI to face Slovakia tonight, with Rob Elliot, Eunan O’Kane and Paul McShane among the players handed a start.

There are 10 changes in total from the team that started the other night against Switzerland, with Shane Long the only player retained.

Martin O’Neill looks to have dispensed with the 4-4-2 formation from Friday night, with Long the only natural striker in the side.

Ireland team to face Slovakia: Elliot; Christie, O’Shea, McShane, Ward; McCarthy, Whelan; O’Kane, Hoolahan, McClean, Long.
