THE IRELAND MEN’S Sevens side have continued where they left off a fortnight ago with three emphatic wins to open their Rugby Europe Division B campaign in the best possible fashion.
Anthony Eddy’s charges cruised to victory in the Division C tournament in Zenica two weekends ago and they’ve made an equally blistering impact on the pool stage this afternoon in Croatia.

With the stakes increasing with each passing tournament, Ireland have been clinical in their approach, racking up big wins to advance to Sunday’s play-off stage.
In the first game of the day, Ireland ran in eight tries during a 54-0 demolition of Slovenia and then bettered that effort against Bulgaria with a 64-0 win.
And in the final pool game of the day against Austria, they maintained that ruthlessness, running in nine tries to win 57-0, finishing the pool stage with 27 tries scored and none conceded in just three games of rugby.
They now take the top seeding into tomorrow’s quarter finals, which are yet to be finalised.
The winner of this tournament earns a place Rugby Europe Olympic Repechage tournament which takes place in Lisbon between 18 – 19 July.
If Ireland can win that event, they will then have the opportunity to compete in the World Olympic Repechage next year with the final spot for Rio 2016 up for grabs.
