Ireland to face Holland in friendly before Euro 2016 departure

Dutch join Switzerland and Slovakia in Ireland’s pre-tournament plans.

DANNY BLIND’S HOLLAND will be the opposition in Ireland’s final home game before Euro 2016.

The Dutch have been confirmed as the opposition for a farewell friendly in the Aviva Stadium on 27 May.

Martin O’Neill’s side already have two Dublin dates confirmed for next spring as Euro preparations begin in earnest.

The Boys in Green host Switzerland on Good Friday, 25 March, before pitting themselves against Slovakia four days later.

Ireland’s Euro 2016 campaign begins against Sweden on 13 June before Group E games against Belgium on 18 June and Italy on 22 June.

800,000 tickets for the tournament in France went on sale yesterday, with fans required to submit their applications before 18 January.
