Finally, later today, Ireland will have a badminton player in the last-16 of the Olympic Games for the first time. Scott Evans will hope to continue his Olympic journey when he plays world number four Viktor Axelsen at 9.30pm.

It will be another hectic day of track and field with the finals of the men’s 800m(2.25am) and women’s 400m (2.45am) the pick of the action at the Olympic Stadium.
If you fancy something a bit different, then the men’s omnium comes to a thrilling conclusion from 9.23pm, while the final of the heavyweight boxing starts at 11.15pm.
