THERE HAS BEEN some news for Ireland fans waiting to hear about Euro 2016 tickets this evening .

While Uefa revealed last month that 3.5 million tickets requests were made for this summer’s finals in France, Ireland were one of the top five countries to submit applications with 275,000 made from supporters of the Boys in Green.

The FAI has now advised supporters who applied via credit or debit cards to ensure that sufficient funds are in their accounts as payments will be extracted from Friday morning.

The statement reads: “From tomorrow morning, UEFA plan to start taking payments from successful EURO 2016 ticket applications.

“We would like to advise all applicants to check with your bank that there are sufficient funds on your credit/debit card, or to raise the credit limit per transaction accordingly.

If you have agreed to accept tickets in other categories, this may increase the total amount to be paid for your tickets.

“All applicants will be informed of their final status by 29 February at the latest.”
