Ipswich duo start up front for Ireland, Westwood named in goals

Martin O’Neill has confirmed his starting XI to play England today.

IRELAND HAVE NAMED an experimental side to take on England for this afternoon’s clash at the Aviva Stadium.

Ipswich duo David McGoldrick and Daryl Murphy have been given a chance to impress in attack, while Keiren Westwood is handed a rare start in goals.

The formation has yet to be confirmed, but O’Neill could go with a 4-3-3 formation, with McGeady, Murphy and McGoldrick in attack.

Meanwhile, England have named a strong side. First XI regulars such as Wayne Rooney, Joe Hart and Raheem Sterling have all been included in the team.

Ireland: Westwood; Brady, Coleman, Wilson, O’Shea; Whelan, Hendrick, McCarthy; McGeady, McGoldrick, Murphy.

England: Hart; Bertrand, Cahill, Smalling, Jones; Sterling, Lallana, Milner, Wilshere, Henderson; Rooney.
