'Inspire a Generation' -- London organisers reveal Olympic Slogan

The official slogan for the London 2012 Olympics has been revealed. Here’s a few more…

“INSPIRE A GENERATION”.

That’s the slogan that’s been chosen by the London Olympic games organising committee to fulfil the promise they made when awarded the games to encourage more young people into sport.

It will, along with the Olympic logo, be used throughout both the Olympic and Paralympic games which start in 100 days on July 27.

It follows a long line of Olympic slogans including Beijing’s “One World, One Dream” in 2008 and Barcelona’s “Friends Forever” from 1992.

While “Inspire a Generation” will focus primarily on encouraging British young people into sport, the organising committee has said that it hopes to provoke social change throughout 20 countries, involving 12 million people,  under its international inspiration programme.
