Iceland 2-1 Austria: Win keeps fairytale going for islanders

England now lie in wait for Lars Lagerback’s underdogs, who made the knockout stages in breathtaking fashion thanks to Arnor Traustason’s last-minute winner

AN INCREDIBLE 2-1 win over Austria ensured Iceland a place in the last 16, keeping the islanders’ incredible fairytale going in Euro 2016.

Having tied with Portugal and Hungary, the side started their final Group E match in the best possible fashion when Jon Dadi Bodvarsson gave them the lead.

Alessandro Schopf levelled the game in the second half, but Iceland hit back with a last-gasp effort from Arnor Traustason to take second place and set up a clash with England.
