Ian Madigan pays tribute to the men and women of 1916 with these neon green boots

The Leinster man kicked the winning penalty in the 19 – 16 win over Ospreys, the same numbers he had inscribed on his boots.

IAN MADIGAN’S BRIGHT lime green right boot helped Leinster hold on for victory against the Ospreys on Saturday.

The same boot is adorned with the numbers ’1916′ as we approach the centenary of a turning point in Irish history.

Today, the goal-kicking utility back took note of the final score at the RDS, 19 – 16, and paid tribute to “those who died in the Easter Rising” with a picture of the boots on Instagram.

Given that O’Neills have already released a 1916 jersey, we’re only shorts and socks away from the possibility of a full-kit show of patriotism.
