FORMER PREMIER LEAGUE player and manager Iain Dowie has stepped away from football for his latest job… and it’s an unlikely career move.
Dowie, who also represented Northern Ireland 59 times, played for seven professional clubs and managed six more during a career in football which lasted over 20 years.
However, Dowie has now been appointed as a regional sales manager at Go To Surveys, a company that “undertakes homebuyers reports, building surveys and valuations throughout England, Wales and Northern Ireland.”

For the uninitiated, Dowie’s profile reads: “Having experienced the excitement of playing international football and managing at a high level Iain is equally excited to be joining the innovative and dynamic GOTO group.”
Dowie, whose last job in professional football was with Hull City as a ‘football management consultant’ in 2010, reportedly continues to work with Sky Sports News as a commentator.
If he brings this kind of enthusiasm to his new role we’re sure he’ll be a resounding success.
