Cork have had nearly 70% possession and 10 wides; this one, really, should be over. Bar the five-minute sugar rush after Jason Forde’s goal, Tipp have offered very little and look out on their feet. Still, Cork might yet rue some of those missed chances in the opening half.

Peter Duggan scored 1-10 from placed balls while John Conlon and Tony Kelly hit 1-3 and 0-6 from play respectively as Clare tallied 33 in Ennis. Could be a costly defeat for Waterford if only due to the injuries they racked up. Fine win for Clare, who bounce back from defeat last weekend in style.

The Tribesmen emerge fairly comfortable winners in the end. These two might see each other again later in the season, but Galway head to Wexford Park next weekend in fine fettle.
