1 min — Clare 0-1 Kilkenny 0-0: First blood to Clare as Aron Shanagher opens the scoring in Cusack Park.

THROW IN: We’re up and running in Walsh Park.

2 mins — Tipperary 0-1 Waterford 0-0: John McGrath knocks over a free to open the scoring.

4 mins — Clare 1-3 Kilkenny 0-0: WHAT A START IN ENNIS! Aaron Cunningham gets an early goal, and then Aron Shanagher adds another point before winning a free for Reidy to convert. Incredible.

7 mins — Tipperary 0-2 Waterford 0-2: John McGrath and Pauric Mahony trade frees. All square after seven minutes.

Over at Pearse Stadium, it’s Galway 0-2 Wexford 0-1 inside the opening minutes, while Limerick and Kerry are square at 0-1 apiece.

9 mins — Clare 1-3 Kilkenny 0-1: TJ Reid has the Cats on the board with a free.

9 mins — Waterford 0-3 Tipperary 0-2: Mossy Hamill goes into the book with a yellow card. Mahony points the free to edge Waterford back in front. Austin Gleeson tries his hand with a monster effort but it’s wide.

10 mins — Waterford 0-3 Tipperary 0-3: John McGrath has his first from play as he skips away from Conor Gleeson and knocks it over.

12 mins — Waterford 0-3 Tipperary 0-3: A bit too casual from Austin Gleeson who has lots of time. The angle is tight though and his shot sails wide.

13 mins — Waterford 0-4 Tipperary 0-3: No messing with Pauric Mahony. He launches a free from inside his own half, straight and over the bar.

Clare are keeping Kilkenny at arm’s length – Clare 1-6 Kilkenny 0-2, Conor Fogarty with the Cats’ only score from play so far.

It’s Limerick 0-6 Kerry 1-1 after a quarter of an hour in that one, Limerick responding well after a Padraig Boyle goal gave Kerry the lead.

And Joseph Cooney’s goal has Galway two points up against Wexford – Galway 1-4 Wexford 0-5.

17 mins — Waterford 0-5 Tipperary 0-5: Back in Walsh Park, it’s all square. Niall O’Meara and Brendan Maher with a point apiece for Tipp either side of a Mikey Kearney score for the hosts.

18 mins – Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 0-5: CHANCE! Shane Bennett pulls on the bouncing ball and flashes it across the face of Daragh Mooney’s goal. That wasn’t far off.

The wide count is Waterford 3-2 Tipp as things stand.

20 mins — Waterford 0-6 Tipperary 0-6: Gavin O’Brien points but it’s cancelled out almost immediately by another John McGrath free.

21 mins — Waterford 0-7 Tipperary 0-6: Mahony has a free from the right and again, makes no mistake.

25 mins — Clare 1-7 Kilkenny 0-4: Still six between them in Ennis as TJ Reid points a free.

25 mins — Waterford 0-7 Tipperary 0-6: Gleeson takes on another chance from distance but again, it drops wide. Derek McGrath is up out of his seat in the dugout with some advice for the youngster.

26 mins — Waterford 0-7 Tipperary 0-7: Jason Forde ties it up again.

27 mins — Waterford 0-8 Tipperary 0-8: Another Mahony free has Waterford one up but from the puck out, Steven O’Brien gets in behind Conor Gleeson and points to equalise.

28 mins — Tipp sub: Bubbles O’Dwyer comes on to replace Aidan McCormack. Brendan Maher is down as well now and needs a bit of treatment.

Latest from elsewhere:

Clare 1-8 Kilkenny 0-6

Galway 1-7 Wexford 0-6

Limerick 1-11 Kerry 2-1

31 mins — Waterford 0-9 Tipperary 0-8: Austin Gleeson’s radar is badly off at the moment. He does brilliantly to snare a high ball above the head of Paudie Maher but then with the hard work done, he messes up the easy bit and puts a simple shot wide.

32 mins — Waterford 0-9 Tipperary 0-9: Lovely stuff from John McGrath who shrugs off Shane McNulty and then slips past Barry Coughlan before pointing.

34 mins — Tipperary 0-10 Waterford 0-9: Noel Connors looks a little bit bemused as he’s whistled for a foul on Bubbles O’Dwyer. John McGrath is struggling after taking a knock in the place where you don’t want to take a knock, so Bubbles points the free himself.

HALF TIME:  Clare 1-9 Kilkenny 0-8

35+1 mins — Tipperary 0-10 Waterford 0-10: Mahony levels it up again. About 60 seconds left in this half.

HALF TIME: Tipperary 0-11 Waterford 0-10

Jason Forde has the final say, and Tipp lead by a point at the break.

HALF TIME IN DIVISION 1B:

  • Limerick 2-13 Kerry 2-3
  • Galway 2-7 Wexford 0-10

CORRECTION: It’s Galway 2-7 Wexford 0-11 — a two-point lead for the Tribesmen at the break.

Quick look at how the other games away from Walsh Park are unfolding…

Clare 1-9 Kilkenny 0-8: Aaron Cunningham’s early goal has four points between the sides; Kilkenny have been held to just three points from play — two for Conor Fogarty and one for TJ Reid.

Limerick 2-13 Kerry 2-3: No shortage of goals at the Gaelic Grounds where Limerick lead by 10 at the break — Padraig Boyle got two for the Kingdom but Graeme Mulcahy and Tom Morrissey have one apiece for the hosts.

Galway 2-7 Wexford 0-11: The game in Pearse Stadium is shaping up to be the best of the bunch. Goals from Joseph Cooney and Johnny Coen had Galway seven in front at one point but Wexford finished with five unanswered points to make a game of it.

SECOND HALF: We’re back underway in Walsh Park with Shane Bennett hitting an early wide for Waterford.

37 mins — Tipperary 0-12 Waterford 0-10: Steven O’Brien gets the first score of the second half. Two between them.

40 mins — Tipperary 0-12 Waterford 0-11: That’s more like it from Austin Gleeson. He steadies himself and points before James Barry can get close enough to close him down.

41 mins — Tipperary 0-13 Waterford 0-11: Great fielding by Niall O’Meara and it sets up a chance for Kieran Bergin who puts a yard between himself and Mikey Kearney before pointing.

42 mins — Tipperary 0-14 Waterford 0-11: Bubbles tacks on a free as Tipp stretch their lead to three.

Waterford sub: Darragh Lyons is on to replace Shane McNulty.

45 mins — Clare 1-11 Kilkenny 0-10: A comparatively quiet start to the second half in Ennis. Clare would be further ahead but for a handful of missed frees from David Reidy.

46 mins — Tipperary 0-15 Waterford 0-11: Fine score by Bubbles who is picked out by a smart ball from Kieran Bergin. John McGrath had just missed a free but that will do nicely for Tipp who are getting on top now and starting to turn the screw.

46 mins — Galway 2-11 Wexford 0-13: Galway have started the brighter in the second half and there’s now four between them in Pearse Stadium.

51 mins – Latest score from the Gaelic Grounds, where it’s a done deal, is Limerick 3-17 Kerry 2-5.

50 mins — Tipperary 0-15 Waterford 0-12: OOOF! Shane Bennett sets off on a solo run but meets the hard shoulder of Donagh Maher who made little attempt to play the ball and just checked the runner instead. Free in and Mahony points.

PENALTY FOR TIPP! Conor Gleeson tries to swipe the ball clear but misses and Steven O’Brien is in on goal. Tadhg de Burca gets back but all he can do is drag the man down.

Bubbles to take…

SAVED! Ah that’s a smashing save from Ian O’Regan who dived away to his right and stopped a well-struck shot stone dead with his stick.

If Waterford go on to win this, that will be priceless.

55 mins — Tipperary 0-16 Waterford 0-12: Bubbles pushes Tipp’s lead out to four.

GOAL FOR TIPPERARY! Tipperary 1-16 Waterford 0-13 (J McGrath, 58′)

That’s harsh on Ian O’Regan. The Waterford stopper makes an outstanding save, reaching his stick up into the top corner, to deny John O’Dwyer. Unfortunately for him, John McGrath is quickest to react and bats the ball into the empty net.

That should be that.

64 mins — Clare 2-17 Kilkenny 0-12: And it looks like it might be game ball in Ennis as well where Aron Shanagher’s goal has Clare 11 points up against Kilkenny.

It’s going to be back-to-back defeats to start the 1A campaign for Cody’s Cats.

No shortage of scores in the Gaelic Grounds where Limerick now lead Kerry by 18 points, 5-20 to 3-8.

And with five minutes to play in Pearse Stadium, Wexford are back within two — it’s Galway 3-13 Wexford 1-17.

That’s the only game still alive as a contest really.

64 mins — Tipperary 1-16 Waterford 0-13: Smashing save by Daragh Mooney to deny Waterford a goal. That certainly would have made for an interesting finish.

ALL SQUARE IN PEARSE STADIUM! Conor McDonald points the equaliser for Wexford against Galway. There’s not long left…

70 mins — Wexford 1-20 Galway 3-13: WEXFORD LEAD! McDonald points a free and the visitors are a point up with three addtional minutes to play.

Can someone check on Davy please?

FULL TIME: Clare 2-19 Kilkenny 0-12

3289702-3639294+_7ec85a597297b2931c0e968cb640966f

FULL TIME: Wexford 1-21 Galway 3-13

That is sensational stuff from Wexford as McDonald points an insurance free — they’ve beaten Galway by two points!

FULL TIME: Tipperary 1-18 Waterford 0-15

A six-point win for the All-Ireland champions.

And it finished Limerick 6-21 Kerry 3-8 in the Gaelic Grounds.
